Welcome to the Practical information section! This is where everything gets a little bit serious…

My aim with this section of Tasting the sand is to provide useful information and guidance about camels, desert expeditions and what we learned from our months in Mauritania. We started out knowing very little and arrived in the country with no desert experience. However, by the end we had learned to live in the desert by ourselves, self sufficient and unsupported. Hopefully some of this experience can be useful to other people.
